Prints and Stock Images of Fort George
Fort George is one of the most outstanding fortifications in Europe. Built after Battle of Culloden (1746) to secure a base for King George II’s army and help subdue the Highlands. Based on a star design the battlements are more than 1km long. The Fort has never seen a shot fired in anger and is in the care of Historic Environment Scotland.
